maria yasnova lactation consultant ibclc

In 2009 I started on a journey which became the biggest passion of my life (after my amazing husband and our two darling children): supporting mothers and mothers-to-be on their own breastfeeding journeys as a professional lactation consultant.

My Philosophy

I strongly believe that the true EXPERT on the baby is the baby’s MOTHER. My role is to empower the woman and support her with evidence-based information to work out her own unique path in building and nurturing a satisfying breastfeeding relationship with her baby or babies.

I am here for mothers or mothers-to-be at any stage of their breastfeeding journey: from wondering about breastfeeding while expecting a baby, through to the first days and weeks of babys life, to established breastfeeding and through to any stage at which the mother finds she needs a listening ear and compassionate non-judgemental support and evidence-based information.

My Qualifications

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

Professional Memberships

I am also a member of the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain.

Other Work

I work as a Lactation Consultant at King’s College Hospital (Tongue-Tie Clinic) and also volunteer at local community-based breastfeeding support groups.

Maria Yasvova IBCLC

• IBCLC qualified lactation consultant

• English, Russian and French speaker

• Private breastfeeding support sessions

• Voluntary breastfeeding support

Maria was amazing! We were having quite a bit of trouble with feeding, she came round the evening we called her and within minutes our baby was feeding beautifully! She gave us lots of advice and tips and followed up with texts and phone calls. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough.

Let's talk about breastfeeding

Being prepared for breastfeeding is far more than learning about the ‘correct’ latching technique and signs of effective milk transfer. It is also having an opportunity to talk about it with someone beforehand and get into the ‘right frame of mind’. It’s knowing that breastfeeding may come with challenges but also with solutions and support, that it connects you with community instead of isolating you.
