Local Breastfeeding Support

Here is a selection of popular local breastfeeding support groups for each day of the week.

This is where the real magic happens.

To give you a couple of examples: You settle to feed your little one(s) surrounded by other nursing mothers (tea and cake in hand). Many of them are in the same situation as you, many have been there and come out the other side to enjoy their baby even more so through breastfeeding.

You watch them nurse their baby, you adjust the position, slightly change the angle and… bingo, it does not hurt anymore! Or you share your challenge and they can relate, comfort you, reassure and share their tricks.

You come away empowered and full of new ideas. Or you literally move mountains to get to the group, you get your answer, you keep coming religiously every week, your confidence and your baby grow, you feel like you can support other mothers now. You grow new friends and connections around you. You find your tribe.

The local breastfeeding support groups will typically have breastfeeding counsellors, peer supporters, breastfeeding specialist health visitors and/or midwives on hand to explore your situation together. It is a great resource and setting to get your head round breastfeeding in a supportive and friendly environment.
